General Introduction:
The item is derived from the Indian made 'Bombay Bowler' shola style pith helmet that was formerly much worn by Westerners in India and other tropical and subtropical British colonies until the late 1960s.
This Indian pith helmet is handmade by Linkorient’s skilled craftsmen using unique pith (of an indigenous tree - Sesbania Javanica living under water - cultivated in northern Vietnam) and the learnt production methods from the French during their occupation dating back to the 1900s. The durable and lightweight properties make the hat a stylish headgear as well as a great protection from the sun and keep your head cool. Outside cover: High quality khaki twill. Inside liner: Shade green or cream cotton fabric. Chinstrap and sweatband: High quality leather. Fittings: Ventilator, eyelet and buckle made of aluminum/brass. Color: As pictured.
